Naga Students’ Union Chandel Opposes Kuki-Zo Rally in Chandel, Calls for Immediate Withdrawal

Chandel: The Naga Students’ Union Chandel (NSUC) has issued a strong statement opposing the rally planned by the Kuki-Zo community on August 31, 2024.

In the interest of maintaining peace and neutrality, NSUC declared that no rally or agitation organized by the Kuki Inpi Manipur would be permitted within Naga-inhabited areas.

The NSUC has mandated the Kuki Students Organisation to immediately withdraw the proposed rally within their jurisdiction. The union stated that it would not be held responsible for any untoward incidents that might occur during the course of the agitation.

Similarly, the proposed rally of the Kuki-Zo communities slated for August 31 has been prohibited by the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong in Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts, the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) in Senapati District, and Rongmei Naga Students Organisation Manipur (RNSOM) in Tamenglong and Noney districts calling it a peaceful zones, emphasizing that no rallies, sit-in protests, or any form of agitation will be permitted in these areas.
