Mizoram has improved its recovery rate of COVID-19 as the state’s recovery rate has increased to 72.18 per cent on Friday from 62.79 per cent. On Friday, 184 cases recovered from the disease, according to an official source.

With the latest update, the state saw 1289 cases recovered till date.

According to the official source, only 497 cases remain as active in the state now.

Meanwhile, Saitual district located in the southern part of the state has become the only COVID-19 free district in the state after the lone case got discharged on Friday.

Comparatively Mizoram is one of the least COVID-19 affected states in the country. However, the state government has been expressing its concern from time to time on the rise of the COVID-19 cases. The state government has also expressed its concern a few days ago on the availability of COVID-19 facilities in the state.

Interestingly, Mizoram is the only state in the country which has not reported any COVID-19 fatality case till date.

Meanwhile, concerned with the issue, the state government had issued new guidelines on COVID-19 few days ago. The new guidelines concentrated on regulation of contact tracing and sample testing.

The new guidelines give priorities to primary high risk contacts.
