Imphal: Various Border Security Force (BSF) battalions deployed for law and order duties across Manipur have extended relief efforts to displaced persons and remote communities. The relief initiative, conducted under the aegis of BSF Sector HQ Manipur and BSF Frontier HQ Masimpur (Assam), has seen mobile Subsidiary Bhandar (SB) outlets, operated under the Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar (KPKB), bringing essential commodities to those in need.

On 11 October, mobile outlets were stationed at multiple locations including Moirangpurel Boys’ Hostel in Imphal East District by 29 Bn BSF, the relief camp at Mangolnganbi, Ningthoukhong, Bishnupur District by 10 Bn BSF, and camps in Sugnu and Serou, Kakching District by 131 Bn BSF. Additionally, 37 Bn BSF reached Jalenbung village in Ukhrul District, while STC BSF Churachandpur served the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Lanva TD Block Lingsiphai Village, Churachandpur District.

The initiative started on 17 September, when BSF launched eight Subsidiary KPKB outlets across Manipur. These outlets aim to provide uninterrupted supplies of essential goods to the civil population in remote areas at reasonable prices. The BSF battalions have set up these outlets at strategic locations including CI Post Wangjing Techam in Thoubal District, Trade Centre Moreh in Tengnoupal District, CI Post Lamlai in Imphal East District, and several other areas.
