2 dead, 1 injured in a car accident in between Maram and Makhan, Senapati

In a tragic car accident, a young doctor who was on the way to join duty at Screening Point, Mao Gate succumbed to injuries, his mother died on spot and his father referred to Imphal for further treatment when they met with an accident. The i10 Grand car bearing registration No. MN 01S-5323 was reportedly driven by the father of the young doctor when the incident took place in between Maram and Makhan under Mao Police Station, Senapati district.

Getting source from the medical department, it was learned that the young doctor identified as one, Dr. Franco Heisnam, 31 years, s/o H. Chhaterjit Singh of Bamon Leikai, Imphal East district recently joined the Screening Point, Mao Gate as an M.O. on contractual basis. The family was reportedly on the way to drop the doctor at his posted place when the incident took place. His mother identified as one, H. Meme Devi, 58 years was found spot dead while the father was injured and later referred to Imphal for further treatment.

The 33 Assam Rifles, Maram Outpost rushed to the accident site and reportedly assisted in shifting the victims together with local youth. The IRCS, Senapati district also rushed to the accident spot and reportedly assisted in shifting the deceased and injured to the District Hospital, Senapati as well as dropping to Imphal. Hearing the incident, Dr. Pfokreho Pfoze, CMO, Senapati District shared his grieve with the bereaved family of the deceased adding the incident was unfortunate.
