Ukhrul district reported 21 new Covid-19 positive cases on Monday while 27 persons have been discharged in the district. No death case was reported.
On the other hand, Jessami village in north of Ukhrul district which has been reeling under Covid-19 reported two active cases on Monday. From 21 positive case on Sunday, Jessami reported just 2 case on Monday.
In view of the impending threats of the COVID-19 pandemic in the area and to prevent spread, Additional district magistrate Ukhrul, David Kashungnao, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him under Para 12 of the Manipur Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 had sealed, barred entry and exit of population from the five containment area and directed to initiate active surveillance of the Covid cases with immediate effect.
The five residences declared containment measures in the geographical areas are:
Residence of Thotshang Shaiza, H/o Leishiwon Shaiza, Viewland zone II; Bhola Sah H/o Rinku Devi Viewland zone I and Bhola Pan shop; Rudal Chaudary H/o Nibha Devi Viewland zone I and Fish shop Viewland zone I; Shangchuila MH W/o Shangreikhai New Canaan Village; Thotrei Muivah S/o Lakreiphi New Canaan Village.
While two residences containment measures have been revoked as all the family members in the containment zone have been retested and found negative. They are: residence of Columbus Raikhan H/o Jolis Raikhan of Maichon village and Litan Forest office Ukhrul and Chonthing AS Viewland zone-1.
Out of the total 100 active case in the district – 22 are from district isolation ward, Transit Covid Care Centre 68, Jessami isolation centre 2, New Cannan 1, Tongou village community isolation centre 3, Shangkai 3, and Maichon community isolation centre 1.
Altogether, 27 Covid-19 positive patients have been discharged, according to district surveillance officer, Ukhrul.
Meanwhile, Kamjong district on Monday reported zero Covid-19 positive case. With 28 active total cases as of Monday, the cumulative number of positive cases stands at 407.
The updated cumulative number of samples collected and result declared for persons who have taken test in Kamjong district is 7830.
No Covid-19 fatality was reported in the district.
