Dr. Sophronea Tuithung, daughter of the late Chinaochung Tuithung and Leah Tuithung, is a neuroscientist currently working at Harvard University. She hails from Kashung Village, Kamjong District, Manipur.
Dr. Tuithung completed her high school and higher secondary education at Grace Academy School and Human Resource Development Academy, Imphal, respectively. She earned her B.Tech in Biotechnology from Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology and her MSc in Biotechnology from IIT Bombay. She received her PhD from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research (ACBR) at Delhi University. Recently, she joined Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard University, as a postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Tuithung’s journey to one of the world’s leading research institutions is truly inspiring.
