Dimapur, July 7: Torrential rainfall since the evening of July 5 has led to severe flash floods across Dimapur urban and surrounding rural areas, submerging multiple low-lying localities. Continuous downpour caused the overflowing of major drains, resulting in waterlogging in several colonies, including Vihume, Netaji, Kuda village, Purana Bazaar B, Walford (Central), Namgalong, and Kalibari (ward-17).
In response to the situation, an emergency meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) was held today where the members resolved to visit the relief camps and extend immediate aid.
