Manipur reported only two fresh cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the lowest daily spike in COVID-19 cases since August last year.
The active cases in the state dipped to 33 as 13 more patients were discharged after they recovered from the viral infection on Sunday, according to the state Health department.
The new two cases took the overall infection tally of the state to 29,273 which included 28,867 recoveries. The recovery rate of the state improved to 98.61 % on Sunday.
The two fresh cases were one each from Imphal East and Imphal West districts. They were diagnosed with the coronavirus while testing 837 samples. The state has tested a total of 5,49,740 samples till date.
With no report of death related to the pandemic, the fatality toll remains at 373.
On the other hand, the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in the state rose to 52,327 with 3,482 people vaccinated on Saturday, as per the latest report of the Health department.
Among them, 29,760 healthcare workers, it added.
No severe reactions or allergies were reported following the immunisation except 47 mild reactions who were on home care. All of them have, however, fully recovered.
