Preparations in full swing for CM N Biren’s visit to Ukhrul

Ukhrul: Preparations are in full swing for the proposed visit of the chief minister and his cabinet to Ukhrul headquarters on 18 October 2023.

Speaking to this correspondent, deputy commissioner of Ukhrul, Kengoo Zuringla informed that “upon receiving the information that the state cabinet meeting will be held at Ukhrul on October 18 2023, the district administration has already started preparations in full swing for the visit of the chief minister, the cabinet ministers and some of the MLAs to Ukhrul. The site for the cabinet meeting will be held at DC Office Conference Hall and the reception programme will be held at the premises of DC Office. Preparations are being taken by all the departments. The district administration with all the DLOs and officers are happy to host the cabinet meeting in Ukhrul District.”

To welcome the chief minister, cabinet ministers and MLAs, the district administration is carrying out massive renovation and repair works at the venue.

It is learnt that 21 projects amounting to Rs 23.93 crore will be inaugurated by the CM during his visit to Ukhrul on October 18 2023. The projects are the inauguration of working women hostel at Ukhrul Headquarters, girls hostel at Paoyi, PHSC buildings at Tusom CV, Ngainga, Pushing and Ringui. Inauguration of Primary School buildings at Sira Rakhong, Ngachonmi Primary School at Ukhrul, Ringui Ayotang Primary School, Ringui Ramhon Primary School and Paorei Primary School. Inauguration of guest house at Shirui, Geriatric Ward at Ukhrul District Hospital, barrack type quarter at PHC Lambui, augmentation of water supply at Yaolen, Paoyi Azingtang, Chingjaroi CV, Leiyaram, Tora Khunou, Lungreiphung and open gym at Ukhrul.

Foundation stones laying for 24 projects amounting to Rs 41.61 crore will be announced such as construction of a Bailey bridge at Challou River at Poi village, construction of road from NH-202 to Halang, improvement of village circular road at New Tusom and Tusom CV, construction of PHSC Phungcham, various types of quarters at Ukhrul Police Station, Chingai Police Station, Jessami Police Station, Shangshak Police Station, Phungyar Police Station, Somdal Police Station and Litan Police Station. Government Children’s Home at Ukhrul, revamped distribution sector schemes, construction of Cultural Centre Cum Multipurpose Building in Ukhrul, integrated farming for upliftment of Huishu village.
