The online backlash did not stop at the non-payment of The Prophets, but it open old wounds of other band not paid in 2019, Reverse Tragedy.
The band reached out to Ukhrul Times and clarified that “Most of the people had a misconception of that Reverse Tragedy too didn’t get the payment when they won. In our time, back in 2018 when we won the competition just after one week we received the prize money and the next year i.e 2019 when we co-headline the event our performance fees and travel expenses was on due and it’s still unpaid.”
By the time of filing this report, it cannot be confirmed if the first runner up of ShiRock 2022, Symphonic Illusions from Meghalaya who won a sum of Rs 5 lakh has been paid too.
