UT News Service | Dimapur, August 10: Nagaland detected a huge spike of COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. According to the Health department, the state recorded 230 fresh cases of the disease on Monday to take the tally to 3011. The Health department said that the fresh cases of COVID-19 were detected during the testing of 828 samples in the past 24 hours.
According to the Health department, out of the fresh cases of COVID-19, 104 are from Dimapur, 104 from Kohima, 18 from Mon district and 4 from Peren district.
From among the 104 cases of Dimapur, 72 are security force personnel, 17 are returnees, 14 are traced contacts and 1 is a frontline worker.
Regarding Kohima cases, 52 are security force personnel, 5 are returnees, 46 are traced contacts and 1 is a frontline worker.
Regarding those Mon district and Peren district cases, all are security force personnel.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Health minister Pangnyu Phom, “Contact tracing is fully put in force and all primary contacts are kept under self isolation to avoid further transmission”.
Meanwhile, the latest update showed that the state has 2096 active cases and 905 recovered cases.
