Ajit Doval Reappointed as India’s NSA for Third Term; P.K. Mishra to Continue as Principal Secretary

Ukhrul: Ajit Doval has been appointed as the National Security Adviser (NSA) of India for the third consecutive term, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Government of India, announced on Thursday.

The notification stated that during Ajit Doval’s term in office, he will be assigned the rank of Cabinet Minister in the Table of Precedence.

“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ajit Doval, IPS (Retired), as National Security Adviser with effect from 10.06.2024. His appointment will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” the Government notification stated.

Similarly, the Appointments Committee also approved the appointment of Dr. P.K. Mishra, IAS (Retired), as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister with effect from June 10, 2024. “During his term in office, he will be assigned the rank of Cabinet Minister in the Table of Precedence,” the Government of India stated.

“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Dr. P.K. Mishra, IAS (Retired), as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister with effect from 10.06.2024. His appointment will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” it further said.
