Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Kamjong district Dr. Sirawon Hungyo has asked all the participants of an engagement programme in a village to get tested for Covid-19 after one of the attendees tested positive for the virus on 4 November.

In an official information issued on Thursday, the CMO stated that one of the participants of the engagement programme was tested Covid-19 positive on 4 November. The person hailing from Grihang village, reportedly attended event at the residence of one M. Silas, at Awungtang, Bungpa Khullen village on 30 October last.

“It is therefore requested of all the participants of the engagement programme to report to CHC Kamjong for immediate testing,” Dr. Hungyo said, asking the hosts/persons arranging the program to submit the list of the attendees on the email: dsukamjong@gmail.com on or before 5 pm of 6 November 2020 to ensure tracing of all the attendees.

The medical chief said that the order was issued in the interest and welfare of the public to prevent transmission and shedding of the virus.

“In view of the prevailing pandemic situation and the rapid rise of Covid~19 positive cases in the past few days followed by the report of two deaths from Kamjong district, it has become expedient to strengthen the preventive measures among the public in a very stringent manner,” she said.
