In continuation with the initiative of integrating the local communities, Assam Rifles with the motto “Friends of North East” conducted National Integration Tour to Mumbai and Pune under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South).
The National Integration Tour was Flagged In on 21 December 23 at Somsai by Brigadier Vaibhav Shinde, Deputy Inspector General 10 Sector Assam Rifles.

The tour was organised under Operation Sadhbhavana from 05 December to 21 December 23 and was led by Captain Aman Kumar. The team comprising of 15 students of Kuki (5), Nepali (1) and Tangkhul (15) communities belonging to the various schools of Kamjong District were taken to Mumbai and Pune where the students got the opportunity to visit the Naval Dockyard, Indian Navy Ship HAMLA, National Defence Academy, College of Military Engineering, Army Institute of Physical Training, Armed Forces Medical College, Gateway of India, Film City, Malls and other important places as well as tourist attractions over a period of 15 days.
The purpose of the tour was to give exposure to the children belonging to remote areas of Manipur the rich culture, heritage and advancements of our great nation while developing bonds across communities, as they interacted with the purpose of National Integration. They were given a peek into what all opportunities exist in today’s modern India.

The Flag In programme included brief of the tour by the Officer In Charge followed by sharing of tour experience by the kids and teachers, the vibrant and breath taking experiences they witnessed on this tour were brought to life by their heartfelt speeches, they also conveyed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for this unique opportunity. The students and teachers were then presented with mementoes and certificates as a token of remembrance and appreciation of their participation post which they were addressed by 10 Sector Commander.

Later, students interacted with the Sector Commander who shared his insights on the strength our diversity holds for the Nation, advising them to promote unity wherever they go. He also advised students to keep their inquisitive nature alive while strengthening the bond developed during this tour.
The students and teachers emphatically thanked Assam Rifles for such a well organised tour which encompassed their diverse communities of Manipur and provided the children a holistic, fun filled, learning experience.
