Chandel: The Monsang Naga Baptist Churches Association (MNBCA) observed ‘Advent Christmas Celebration’ on Saturday by following Covid protocols. The celebration was held at its mission centre Khoriibung, Japhou . The theme for the celebration was titled “Saviour from Bethlehem”.
Pastor of Monsang Baptist Church Fellowship, Imphal Kiirii Bosom moderated the celebration event. Mission Coordinator, MNBCA Shongsir Dilbert was the speaker of the occassion.
The advent Christmas celebration was attended by church leaders and members from Monsang Baptist churches namely Japhou Baptist Church, Japhou Bazaar Monsang Baptist Church, Sarei Baptist Church, Changnhe Baptist Church, Liwa-Changming Baptist Church, Monsang Baptist Church Fellowship Imphal. The Christmas season round the corner give reasons to bring people for prayer and worship collectively together, stated MNBCA leaders.
Asst. Pastor, Changnhe Baptist Church Ng. Bengamshing invoked the opening prayer for the gathering. Ts. Charshing, Youth Secy, MNBCA in his welcome speech welcome all the prominent elders, leaders and participants of the celebration with warm welcome note. Ts. Changninglei, senior-most lady pastor of Japhou Bazaar Monsang Baptist Church gave the offertory and thanksgiving prayer.
Rev. Alani Shongsir, Exe Secy MNBCA led the installation and intercessory prayer session in respect of upcoming 2022 youth camp appointed leaders. It was followed by message from the main speaker of the celebration. Sh. Dilbert gave an interesting exegesis on the book of Micah 5:2 and Matt. 2.6. and highlighted the cultural milieu of Bethlehem and it’s historical significance in Christian parlance. He drew a strong analogy in the context of Monsang people to be strong, God fearing, and dedicated to the Lord despite being a community with small population. God love the community irrespective of population figures, he stated. Kh. Belender, assistant pastor of Liwa-Changning Baptist Church led the closing prayer. The advent Christmas celebration was concluded with beautiful Christmas songs, music, gifts and a grand dinner prepared by MNBCA staffs.
