Ukhrul: Condolence and solidarity messages continue to pour in following the tragic loss of Themmaso Tallanao, President of TMNL, and Masothing Mangshon, Assistant General Secretary of TMNL, in a fateful accident on Thursday morning.
The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has expressed sorrow over the tragic loss of two youth leaders during a mission to safeguard Naga homeland interests in Manipur. In solidarity, ANSAM reiterated its commitment to the Naga cause, honoring the sacrifices of Tallano and Mangshon, who, it stated, would be forever remembered in Naga history.

The Eastern Kuki Chiefs’ Association (EKCA), the Kuki Students’ Organisation, Kamjong, and the Kuki Women’s Union, Kamjong, have expressed their condolences on the passing of the two Tangkhul youth leaders.
“We the Eastern Kuki Chiefs’ Association(EKCA), the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Kamjong, The Kuki Womens’ Union, Kamjong are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives… at Kamjong District near Singcha Junction in a car accident on 24 October 2024. We extend our deepest and sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and pray for a speedy recovery of the injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and the friendly people of Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL or Tangkhul Youth Council) in particular and the Tangkhul community in general. May their soul rest in peace,” stated the press release jointly signed by St. Lhingboi Haokip, President KWU Kamjong, Helun Vaiphei, General Secretary, KSO Kamjong and Albert Letgin Haokip, General Secretary EKCA.

In a show of solidarity, the Naga Students’ Organization in Lahe town in Naga Self-Administered Zone (NSAZ) said it is saddened to hear the untimely passing away of the two young Naga leaders, in what it said were on a mission to “assess the implications impacted by the restrictions of Free Movement on the indigenous Naga community and Boder fencing in Naga Homeland against the will of the Naga people.” NSAZ further said “Their Supreme sacrifice made in the Naga struggle against the imperialist shall remain forever in the hearts of all Naga Students and Youth community in pursuit of our one Naga destiny.”
The Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) in its condolence message said the two young and dynamics Naga leaders “were on their official duty with the NSF team to assess the position and implications of the abrogation of Free Movement Regime (FMR) in that border areas. The sacrifices of these two brave leaders is highly honoured….”
The Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi, Manipur (Liangmai Naga Students’ Union, Manipur) while it extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased leaders, said, “Themmaso Tallanao and Masothing were visionary leaders who dedicated their lives to the welfare and progress of our community. Their contributions will always be remembered and cherished.”
The Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK) in Chandel District said the Union mourns the irreplaceable loss of these two esteemed leaders, whose contributions to the Naga cause will forever be remembered.
The Tarao Students’ Union, Chandel District in their condolence message said, “the sacrifices of these two brave Leaders is highly honoured and let it serves as a beacon of Unity, Strength and Courage in this Naga movement of “NAGAS WITHOUT BORDERS.”

The All Zeliangrong Students’ Union Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (AZSU-AMN) expressed profound grief at the loss of the two young leaders, extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The AZSU-AMN said, “We are profoundly saddened and our hearts are heavy as we mourn by the loss of our two young and dynamic promising leaders who is a truest asset to the Naga Nation. The vacuum created by these two esteemed leaders can never be replaced and will take years to heal our grieving hearts. Their honest contribution and selfless sacrifices for the cause of the nation will never be forgotten and their legacy will continue to inspire us all.”
The Tangkhul Leisak Long also condoled the passing of the two leaders.
The Naga People’s Front, Ukhrul Divisional Unit and MLA Leishiyo Keising, 43/Phungyar Assembly Constituency also condoled the death of the two young leaders.
